PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE JEWELLERY
When my marriage ended, I didn’t want to stop wearing my jewellery.
I loved my rings. They were beautiful, they were mine, and they held years of my life in them, but not just mine. The gold carried metal from a family member’s ring. The diamond had been chosen by a dear friend. These pieces held more than just my relationship. They held other people’s love too. And I didn’t want to erase any of it.
So I did what I do. I went to the bench.
My wedding ring moved from my left hand to my right, and I added padparadscha sapphires to it. The shade's remind me of sunset's and sunrise's. I chose them deliberately, because that’s exactly what this felt like. The end of one day, and the beginning of another.
My engagement ring became a pendant. I have always loved that stone, the way it holds light, the soft peachy warmth of it in different lights. I first made it into a ring, but I kept the same setting and it still felt like my engagement ring. So I changed its form entirely. Now it’s a pendant, with an odd number of claws, the stone floating as if suspended in beads. I still carry it. I just don’t have to look at it all day.
I didn’t erase anything. I transformed it. I carried what had been into what comes next. Unapologetically stepping into my new day.
I CALL THEM MY PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE RINGS
Because that’s what they are. They have had a past. They hold our present moment. And they come with us into the next chapter.
Divorce jewellery doesn’t have to be about anger, or loss, or moving on as though something never happened. It can be about transformation. About finding the new meaning inside something that held a different one. About choosing what you carry forward, and how you carry it.
WHAT DIVORCE JEWELLERY CAN LOOK LIKE
Every piece is completely different, because every story is.
It might be adding to what you have, the way I did. New stones, different setting styles, new textures, and a move from your left hand to your right.
It might be changing the form entirely. A ring that becomes a pendant, something that stays close but sits differently now.
It might be a full remodel, your existing pieces melted down and reimagined. Same gold, completely different life.
Or it might be a brand new commission that has nothing to do with what came before, and everything to do with who you are now.
If it feels right, I can also do a little reiki on your piece before it leaves my hands, filling it with your intention for this next phase.
A LITTLE HONESTY
This work is personal. I’ve lived it. And I know that when you’re in the middle of it, the last thing you want is to feel like you’re being sold something.
So if you’re thinking about what to do with your rings, I’m happy to have a conversation. No pressure, no agenda. Just an honest chat about what feels right, and what might be possible. Sometimes the kindest thing is to wait. Sometimes it’s to act. I’ll never tell you what to do, when you’re ready, I’ll make something that marks this moment in a way that feels true.
To get started, I ask that your budget begins from £1,500. That isn’t about hitting a minimum spend. It’s about making sure we have room to make something beautiful together.
